You haven't even tried yet to be honest. Fun doesn't just leap upon you. Play the game some more. If you don't like side quests, just do the Primary Quests (they're listed on the very top of your Quest Log, accessed by pushing "L" in game) and get to some missions. See some sights, fight some different enemies, get some stronger skills.

Most of the game occurs after you reach level 20, which doesn't take very long at all, even playing casually. Consider levels 1-19 to be a tutorial. You're learning the basics, and it'll be essential later on to do the more fun and difficult areas.

If you're new to MMOs, then it might not be the thing for you. MMOs take time. Guild Wars takes less time to get to good areas than most others, so keep going unless you don't want to spend time getting good (as you'd have to do in any other game anyway).

Which campaign did you start with? I think Nightfall is probably the best one to start with, as you'll get customizable heroes to play around with.

If you're starting a character in Ascalon then it is going to be pretty boring to begin with.

It took me a long while to get out of Ascalon (Didn't know what a primary mission was lol) I just ran around doing quests and killing things until I found someone to run me to LA.

Starting a character in Factions is way funner in my opinion. It's way faster to level as well.

IMO that doesn't help much until you've got the skills to customize them with. OP just started three days ago: that means practically no skills for heroes to use anyway.

yeah level four is barely even beginning the game man
believe once you reach level twenty the game gets alot more fun
also if you started in the first game, Prophecies the game does start out very slowly. Until you reach LA things are slow paced. But give it some time, stick in there and you'll become addicted.

Once you get your secondary, you can get out of the tutorial. But level 4 isn't much, at all. You have yet touch the real game.

Remember, getting to max level (20) is a tutorial for the big game. So... You're in a tutorial in a tutorial.

You are in pre-searing, the easy and pretty beginner area. You want to be at least level 7 or 8 before you enter the academy and move into the main game. You will need to acquire some gold as your storage will cost you 50g and your armor upgrade even more.

There is a website for pre-searing at http://www.presearing.com which covers all the things happening in that section.

For information on the complete game, visit the wiki at http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Main_Page or by pressing F10 while in the game.

The "lack of fun" feeling is because pre-searing is not that challenging. Believe me it does get more exciting as you progress. Groups in the main area begin at 4-man and progress up through 6-man and 8-man parties. If you can't find anyone doing the same quest, you can take NPC henchmen along to help.

Check you quest log siimshady (bring up in the game by hitting the L) follow the primary quest and it will bring you to the end of the game.

check out the Free Service here on guru, there are players that wants to help out, why don't you contact them. http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/f...play.php?f=273

try the pug and grouping section too, look for someone to play with.

Unlearn Runes of Magic. don't compare how you play it with Guild Wars.

Bah! It won't take getting to Lion's Arch for it to become more fun. The Fort Ranick Mission is a blast.

I was the same as you, bought the game, got to about level 8 and was like -_- this game sucks. I know its just copying what everyone else is saying but they are actually right, you need to play a bit more to get into it and you have hardly even started. I know it's hard, especially if your in Ascalon but stick with it.

I started with factions and i think that helped me because of the shorter learning curve, and when i got to proph (my last) i knew what i was doing and what to expect

Also, join a guild. They are usually quite helpful and it's a lot more fun with others some times.

Try a few professions, I've said before, but my first ever was a Warrior because I thought thats what I'd like best.....Hated it, tried a Necro and it's now my main. I'm not advising you to go Necro, but try a few.

Ps. The starting out bit is only boring for me when making new char's, if your bored first time around then oh dear!
